Gutenprint for RISC OS downloads

For the time being, the full Gutenprint for RISC OS release archive is available to supporters of the project only. The source code to the part of the project that has been released under the GPL can be downloaded by everyone below.

NEW: Gutenprint/RISC OS 2.42 (based on Linux Gutenprint 5.2.5) with support for more than 50 additional printer models compared to release 2.32, which had support for more than 600 new printers (and CD printing) compared to the original Gutenprint for RISC OS release. If you are a user of a previous version of Gutenprint you can upgrade to the current version by making another donation for the upgrade.

			If you have the full Gutenprint for RISC OS release 2.41, then you can upgrade to version 2.42 by just downloading a new version of GPDriver2 instead of downloading the complete release archive for version 2.42. Simply replace your existing copy of GPDriver2 with this new one: Download GPDriver 2.42 (01-Jul-12) Password required

			If you use an Iyonix with a USB printer then you will probably find Ian Hamilton's tools useful. The !PrtSet2USB tool is highly recommended to set printer connections to USB. You may want to have a look at his !PrintSpool application, too, which fixes connectivitiy issues with some USB printers.

Source code downloads

You can download the source code to GPDriver2, one of the components of the Gutenprint for RISC OS project, from this page. GPDriver2 is free software and has been released under the GNU Public Licence. GPDriver2 is based on a slightly modified version of Gutenprint 5.2.5 that is included in the GPDriver2 source archive.

Unless you want to modify and improve GPDriver2 yourself and you have the required tools to do so (most notably, GCC 4.1.1 and a soft-float ELF build of OSLib), there is not much point in downloading these sources.

GPDriver2 requires a front-end printing layer (such as that supplied with the complete Gutenprint for RISC OS release archive) to interface with the RISC OS printing system.

The remaining components of the Gutenprint for RISC OS project (most notably, the printing layer) are not free software. For the time being, they are only available to supporters of the project. There may be a public release of these components at a later date.
